Dolce Violins

Jacob Brillhart Viola 2021 – 15 7/8 Length of Back

SOLD

Full Description

The Andrea Guarneri “Conte Vitale” 1676 viola was Jacob’s inspiration for this model.

This viola sounds like a bigger viola, it has a very generous C string that wants to give and speaks quickly, the middle register has delicious tone, the kind lovely liquid warmth that violists love, and an A string that is clear and strong without being strident.

One of the most talented of the younger makers to emerge from the violin-making program at Boston’s North Bennet Street School.
Brillhart approaches his craft with the precision of the old masters, blending old and new. The shape and pattern used to make violins, violas, and cellos affects their tone, and even the most minute detail matters to create a unique instrument with a superior sound. Brillhart his own models based on patterns of the Cremonese masters.
