Dolce Violins

Consigning

Have you considered the possibility of selling your violin, viola, cello or bow but weren’t sure what steps to take to actually complete the sale?
Does the thought of selling your instrument or bow just seem too complicated or challenging to move forward?

First, you should know that over the years, our customers have reached out to us frequently for guidance when consigning their instruments and/or bows. With so much experience in this arena, we’re fully equipped to make this process as painless and straightforward as possible. In fact, if you choose to sell your violin, viola, cello or bow on consignment with Dolce Violins, we’re ready to facilitate every aspect of the sale from start to finish.

So, what do you need to do to initiate this process?

First, you need to have your instrument or bow appraised to determine fair market value. Currently, we’re accepting instruments valued at $7,500+ and bows at $4,500+.

If you haven’t already taken this step and are unsure how to move forward, feel free to contact us for guidance.

Prior to making your instrument or bow available for sale, we’ll assess its condition and (with your authorization), perform any necessary adjustments, repairs or restoration to ensure that it meets our standards for quality.

Once the maintenance or repairs to your instrument or bow have been completed and paid for, and the instrument or bow has been officially appraised and priced, we can make them available for sale in our showroom and in our online catalog.

Once the previous steps are complete, we will jointly sign a simple exclusive sales agreement which allows us to show the instrument to our customers on your behalf for a minimum period of twelve months.

Our extensive client base and prominent international online presence will guarantee substantial exposure for your instrument or bow. Plus, we will manage all communications with potential buyers. In other words, once your instrument or bow is up for sale, we’ll do all the “heavy lifting” to maximize the potential for a sale.

Instruments and bows are fully insured during the entire consignment period for both in-store and at-home trials, and for shipping.
