Amédée-Dominique Dieudonné was one of the most well established luthiers of the first half of the 20th century. Born on August 6th, 1890 he learned his craft from Gustave Bazin (son of master archetier Charles-Nicolas Bazin II). After establishing himself in Mirecourt in 1920, he spent the next 40 years of his life producing instruments under his own name, as well as working for well-established firms. He was very skilled at making instruments in the Cremonese style and his instruments typically have a red-toned varnish.
