Full Description
An English cello made in the early 19th century. Though a bit more narrow, the general outline of this cello and an elegantly executed scroll are reminiscent of the great early 18th century cello maker Peter Wamsley. The full arch on the back and the top shows the influence of Steiner. The purfling is finely inlaid and shows the steady hand of a master maker, particularly on the back.
