Ernst Heinrich Roth (1877–1948) was one of the most prolific and respected violin makers of the 20th century. Founded in 1902, his workshop set new standards for quality and authenticity in German violin making. In contrast to the often misleading labeling practices of the 19th century, Roth’s instruments were known for their honesty and detailed documentation—traits that have made them highly regarded among players and collectors alike.
