Full Description

A very finely made modern Italian violin by contemporary luthier Andrea Lissoni. This small Guarneri patterned violin with a back length of 352mm is perfect for someone with small hands looking for a violin with a manageable size, yet seeking full sound. We are big fans of Lissoni’s very precise woodworking, lovely red brown varnish and exceptional tonal characteristics.

Born in Seregno, Italy in 1974, Andrea Lissoni attended the Civic School of Liuteria (violin making school) in Milan and graduated in 2001. He proceeded to work at the “Liuteria Marconi” workshop, which he founded with three of his classmates. Lissoni soon developed a relationship with Marco Piccinotti, whose expertise in violin making, repair and adjustment were invaluable to his development. In 2004, he opened his private workshop in Lissone, Italy, near Milan. Over the years, Lissoni’s instruments have been sold all over the world, with the majority of them going to the United States and Asia. In 2016, he won 1st prize for viola and 3rd prize for violin at the violin making competition in Milan.
