Full Description

Andrzej Glodek is a respected Polish luthier known for his handcrafted violins, violas, and cellos. Born in 1962 in Nowy Targ—a town in southern Poland with a rich tradition of string instrument making—Glodek studied at the Technical School of Violin Making under the guidance of master luthier Jan Bobak.

In the 1990s, he co-founded a workshop with fellow makers Andrzej Świetliński and Jan Szlachtowski in the foothills of the Tatra Mountains. Their collaborative workshop quickly gained recognition for producing instruments of exceptional tonal quality and craftsmanship.

Glodek’s violins, violas, and cellos are celebrated for their warmth, clarity, and quick responsiveness. His instruments speak easily under the bow and offer a rich tonal palette, making them especially appealing to advancing students and professional players alike. His work reflects a careful balance of acoustic precision and aesthetic refinement.

Still active in Poland today, Glodek continues to uphold the tradition of fine instrument making, contributing to the country’s reputation as a center for high-quality European craftsmanship. His instruments are available through select international dealers and remain in demand for their nuanced tone, reliable performance, and elegant workmanship.
