Brian Skarstad is an American luthier specializing in violins and violas, operating under the name Skarstad Violins. After graduating from Wesleyan University, he studied violin making with Anton Smith, Christopher deGroot, and Peter Prier in Salt Lake City. Skarstad models his work on classic Italian examples, including Brescian violas that have attracted the attention of collectors and performers.
