Full Description
Luthier Dante Baldoni (1868-1940) was born in Italy, but he moved to Argentina in 1900. His training remains a mystery, and it seems he may have been self-taught. Baldoni earned a reputation for making excellent copies of the Cremonese masters’ instruments, including a beautiful reproduction of Stradivari’s “The Emperor.” He became a favorite of early 20th century violinists, including Jan Kubelik and Ferenc von Vecsey.
