Éric Gagné’s remarkable bows showcase the best of historical tradition and contemporary creativity. His work places players at the forefront, emphasizing feel, playability, and artistry. Gagné received his training under Blaise Emmelin and Pierre Guillaume before opening up his Montréal workshop. His bows have been consistently recognized in international competitions; he placed as a finalist at the International Competition of Cello and Bowmaking in Paris in 2012 and received multiple certificates of merit from the Violin Society of America.
Gagné is a prominent member of the global string instrument community. He is the founding member of the Makers’ Forum, as well as a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers and the International Association of Violin and Bow Makers.
