Full Description
Erminio Farina (1885–1917) was an Italian luthier known for his precision and craftsmanship in violin making. Born in Milan, Italy, he began his career at Monzino and Sons, where he met Riccardo Antoniazzi. Following Antoniazzi’s death in 1912, Farina succeeded him in the workshop before returning to Monzino in 1914.
Farina’s instruments, primarily violins, exhibit great precision and largely follow Antoniazzi’s stylistic cues. He distinguished himself in the carving of scrolls, and his typical models and varnish are consistent with those used by Antoniazzi during their time together at Monzino.
Despite his brief career, Farina’s work remains significant, with his instruments highly regarded for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
