Full Description
Heinrich Gill Model X7
This cello is based on a model by the 18th century Italian luthier Matteo Goffriller and crafted by skilled artisans under master luthier Bernd Dimbath, with Dimbath personally carving the bass bar and top plate. It uses only the finest tonewood–spruce from the Austrian Alps and maple from the Carpathian mountains–that has been aged for over 10 years and scientifically measured for optimal acoustical properties. This Heinrich Gill Model X7 cello combines time-tested techniques with new technology for superior sound and playability!
Heinrich Gill
Founded in 1952, the Heinrich Gill atelier has been a fixture of Bubenreuth for over 70 years. When the company’s namesake opened his workshop, his family had already been involved in the music business for five generations, and this legacy continues under Bernd Dimbath, a Mittenwald-trained luthier who purchased the firm in 1990.
The Heinrich Gill workshop produces exceptional bowed instruments, combining the finest violin-making traditions with cutting-edge modern technology and scientific methods.
