Ivan Dunov Model 402 violas are made in a small workshop in Romania, then varnished and setup in the Eastman Strings workshop in Beijing. The instruments are hand made with European tonewoods using European traditional violin making methods.  The tastefully antiqued varnish on the Ivan Dunov Superior model 402 is of a rich brown color over a golden ground which enhances the backs and sides of richly figured flamed maple.
