A fine professional modern cello by Jonathan Hai, built on a slightly smaller pattern.

Master violin maker Jonathan Hai transitioned from a career in conservation of historical buildings and archeological sites in Tel Aviv to one focused on violin-making. He started his formal education as a violin maker (liutaio) at the International Violin Making School A. Stradivari in Cremona, Italy, under the guidance of masters Giorgio Scholari and Massimo Negroni. After his time in Cremona, Hai returned to Israel, where he established an independent workshop in the artisans’ workshops compound in Kibbutz Ein Carmel.   

Hai’s instruments are based on the classical models and the Italian tradition. He also collaborates with master violin makers Eyal Hoffmekler, Shlomo Moyal, and with master bow maker David Samuels.
