Lothar Seifert Silver Mounted Cello Bow
SOLD
Full Description
A very well balanced and fine playing silver mounted German cello bow from the Seifert firm.
Archetier Lothar Seifert (1932-2015) was born the same year his father, Oskar Seifert, established a bowmaking workshop in Graslitz. The family was forced to relocate in the aftermath of World War II, eventually joining a burgeoning instrument-making community in Bubenreuth. Seifert apprenticed under his father, eventually taking over the workshop upon his death in 1976.
Under Seifert, the family firm continued its reputation for producing high-quality, handmade bows for students and professionals alike, and it is still running today under the next generation of archetiers: Norbert, Erich, and Bernd Seifert.
