Lucie Martinie Silver Mounted Cello Bow

Full Description

The daughter of a cabinet-maker, archetier Lucie Martinie grew up with dual passions for woodworking and music. She studied violin-making at the prestigious National School of Lutherie in Mirecourt before pursuing hands-on experience in various workshops in Mirecourt and Toulouse. There, Martinie found her niche in archeterie, and she joined Yannick Le Canu’s Lille atelier to further her skills as a bow-maker. In 2016, Martinie established her own workshop in Uzerche, where she collaborates with luthier Mylène Lassalle.

Martinie is an up-and-coming archetier who is already gaining international acclaim. She was awarded the “Coup de Coeur” in the 2014 Violoncelle En Seine Competition, and in 2018, she became the first French woman to win a gold medal in bow-making at the Violin Society of America competition.
