Full Description
Luthier Paul Hilaire (1906-1967) rose to prominence thanks to his collaboration with Georges Apparut. Hilaire served as Apparut’s main assistant, and after his mentor’s death, he assumed leadership of the workshop in collaboration with Apparut’s widow. Hilaire used the brand “Etablissements Apparut & Hilaire,” eventually taking on Jean Eulry as an assistant. Hilaire’s output includes violins, violas and cellos but he focused mainly on cellos.
