Raymond Palmer is a highly regarded luthier and musician based in Northwest Arkansas. His journey into the world of violin making began at the prestigious Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City, where he studied from 2003 to 2007. After completing his education, Palmer moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to apprentice with master luthier Terry Borman, a pivotal experience that honed his craft and deepened his expertise.

In 2008, Palmer established the Fayetteville Violin Shop, which later relocated to Rogers, Arkansas, and was renamed the Palmer Violin Shop. The shop quickly became a cornerstone for musicians in the region, offering a wide range of services, including the sale of high-quality violins, violas, cellos, and basses, as well as expert repair, restoration, and rental services.

Beyond his work as a luthier, Raymond Palmer is also an accomplished musician. He plays viola with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, showcasing his versatility and passion for music. Additionally, Palmer brings his talent to the traditional music scene, performing “old-time” music with the group Old 78s.
