Full Description

This German cello, made circa 1917, is built on a Stradivari pattern. The model reflects the clean proportions and refined outline associated with the Stradivari form.

The top is of spruce with medium to narrow grain, and the back is of maple with horizontal flame extending from the center joint. The varnish is a warm golden-brown laid over an amber ground, showing natural wear consistent with age. The edges are cleanly finished, and the f-holes follow the traditional Stradivari placement and style.

The scroll is carved in a classical manner, with a rounded volute and fluted throat. The instrument is fitted with professional cello strings and is set up in modern playing condition.

German cellos from the early 20th century remain valued for their solid workmanship and dependable construction. Instruments from this period continue to serve advancing students, conservatory players, and professionals seeking a reliable instrument in a traditional Stradivari model.
