Alfred Knoll (1909-1980) founded his bowmaking workshop in Regnitzlosau, Germany in 1932. He established a strong tradition of professionalism and quality, producing a wide range of handcrafted bows for all string instruments and player levels. Knoll’s bows are marked by exceptional playability and attention to detail. Knoll went on to train his son, Hartmut, who eventually took over the atelier in 1977, and the Knoll family workshop still produces high-quality bows under the leadership of Alfred’s grandson, Gerald.
