This viola is based on the Antonio and Gerolamo Amati viola of 1620, and was awarded a double certificate for tone and workmanship at the 2018 Violin Society of America competition.

Award winning luthier Fabienne Gauchet, received her training at the violin making school in Newark, England. After obtaining her diploma in 1998, she continued her training during internships, notably in France, her country of origin. Established in Canada in 2000, she worked for Wilder and Davis Luthiers for fifteen years in repairs and restorations. She thus had the opportunity to be in contact with very beautiful instruments and many musicians. Enriched by these experiences, she now devotes all her time to making the quartet’s instruments. In constant search for the development of her knowledge and her knowledge, she participates in international competitions as well as in various events such as the New York Contemporary Violin Makers Exhibition, Le Forum des Fabricants au Canada and the renowned Oberlin Violin Making Workshop.
