Length of Back – 737 mm
SOLD
Full Description
Made in 2024 by master luthier Kurt R. Jones, this cello—modeled after an instrument by William Forster—features a slightly shorter back length and a 667mm string length, making it an excellent choice for a professional cellist seeking a smaller full-size or 7/8-size cello.
An American luthier with extensive experience, Kurt R. Jones crafts superior stringed instruments in his personal atelier. He trained at the Violin Making School of America, working at Peter Prier and Sons during his education. He has since collaborated with other notable luthiers, including Rafael Carrabba of Carrabba Violins.
In 1991, Jones opened his own workshop, Kurt R. Jones Violins. He has made multiple violas, 41 cellos, and over 120 violins to date. He also was the senior restorer for Carrabba Violins’ restoration of the General Kyd Stradivarius cello.
