David Polstein and Christopher White have worked in collaboration together for many years making violas and cellos. They both attended (and met at) the esteemed North Bennet St. School in Boston, Massachusetts. Their instruments, made individually and collaboratively, are very highly regarded within the orchestral string communities. They have both served on the board of the The American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers and both serve on the advisory board of the violin-making program at the North Bennet St. School. They earned three awards for tone from the VSA (Violin Society of America), including two silver medals.

This instrument is based on a fine Francesco Ruggieri cello and features a poplar back with beech sides and scroll.
